Its being a busy summer so far
now that busyiness of bike week is over I am settling back in to the usual summer pace. Its the busiest time of year for me fixing between 4 - 8 machines a day. Cycling is enjoying an all time high in popularity at the moment. I never thought I would see a time when its fashionable to ride a bike! Thats a good thing though as the more people that ride the better bike products, accesorries and apparel becomes. the more people are then encouraged to ride and more bikes for me to fix!

The year so far
Its been a very busy year so far, busier than i anticipated and I am happy about that. So far this year The Bike Doctor has travelled all over leeds and I have met some brilliant people and fixed some amazing machines. A few things stand out more than most and they are Adam's 1940's restoration project and the Lafarge Tricycle at Ferrybridge power station. I really enjoyed turning a family heirloom into a fully working form of transport complete with period lights! on a sunny spring, summer or autumn day an old sit up and beg is the only way to travel. When i first went to ferrybridge to service a working tricycle in a gypsum works I did not know what to expect! A Pashley trike that travels 12k indoors everyday was what greeted me! I thouroghly enjoyed the challenge of servicing that then building a new one from scratch (14 separate parts including framework) into a new addition to the fleet. Its these trips as well as all the servicing I carry out for customers in there homes, garages and the workshop that has made the past year so memorable. Here is to a good winter and an exciting new year ahead. Thanks to everyone.

Awesome Autumn
Well, the british weather seems to continue to amaze us. Just when you think the dull, grey drizzle has arrived to signal the start of the dreary season we get a fantastic day like yesterday! Every day we get to enjoy our bikes with great weather is another day to be cherished. Wether its flying down some black ribbon in the country with the wind rushing past, or pinning it down some sweet dusty single track. Its another smile on our faces and a happy memory to be stored and reflected on when the weather finally draws a grey veil around us. Here's to awesome autum. Let's hope it continues!

What a weekend! Here you can continue typing the post text. This part will be visible only after a click on the post link. I took half a day off on Saturday to travel up very early to Scotland to do some riding at one of the 7 stanes trail centres. A return to Ae was in order to show some some other members of biking family what the trails are like up there. We were greeted with baking hot sunshine, blue skies and bone dr dusty trails. perfection! After a thouroughly good time blasting around the red route we packed up the huge transporter and headed up to Fort William to watch the UK round of the mountain biking world cup.
Watching the fastest men and women in the world ride down the hardest course in the UK makes you feel like you know very little about bike riding! The speed they travel over rough ground is astonishing.
